- Mooney discusses comparatively some distinctive letter forms in MSS Hengwrt and Ellesmere of the "Canterbury Tales," and in Trinity College R.3.2, the "Confessio Amantis," choosing for illustration a section of fol. 9ra of the latter to support an observation that "the spaces between lines in the Gower are more similar to the oath [of Adam Pinkhurst in the London Common Paper] than in the other two (702).
